We're building a playable drill around the 5 Whys, and our AI design assistant is doing some image assets. It came up with this.

Looks…alright, right? Someone sketched the framework on a glass wall. In non-permanent marker, naturally.

I didn't love it. Couldn't have told you why, though. Not enough to stop.

Then I looked again. Somebody has written WHY on the glass five times and left the building. Or worse.

It has not made the cut.

The brief was about a line long. I was running first tests, so nearly everything in that picture is the model filling a gap I left. The empty office. The arrows pointing down. Nobody in the frame.

Nothing in it is actually wrong. It would get through most checks, automated or human. It nearly got through mine.

People talk about 'taste' a lot. Usually we mean whether something looks good.

This is also taste. How a thing reads to somebody – especially when that somebody isn't you.
