4 bananas years in NYC

Today marks 4 years since we moved to New York.

I had a look for a typical 'NYC landscape' photo to signify the occasion, but the only thing that felt like an appropriate slice of NYC was this photo I took a while ago: me standing outside a subway station, holding a banana.

I'm sure there was a good reason for the photo, I just can't remember what it was.

Speaking of bananas, it's worth noting that banana suppliers have been forced to shift their focus to supplying perfectly yellow bananas in order to meet the desire of Millennial customers. This is a deceptively tricky logistics challenge (not to mention the knock-on environmental issues it creates).

However, esteemed fruit and vegetable purveyor Tony Balboa maintains that the perfect banana ripeness is similar to that of one featured in the photo above.

It may not look too great on the outside, but it sure does taste good.

Not a bad lesson to remember.
