Adventures #33: Local / Global

My Mum and Dad in a canoe on Lac du Sable, Quebec

This past weekend I headed a few hours north of the US/Canadian border and into the wilds of Quebec.

Alongside the incredible nature in that part of the world, something that struck me was the power of both local and global.

Globalisation was marked by the top-end Dyson hand dryers installed in the most remote of roadside cafes. Meanwhile, there were the highly specific local jobs and valuable tacit knowledge that so often remain underexposed - or even completely ignored - by the urbanites.

As the world of work undeniably changes (regardless of our geography or status), perhaps we can benefit from taking a moment to notice both the local and the global. After all, innovation and inspiration can come from the most unexpected places.

I hope you enjoy this month's dispatch. and as always I'd love to hear where you're spending your time right now. Just hit reply.

Thanks for reading.

Nightcrawler
