Claude reaches for the Skills
Last night, I gave Claude Code a tricky strategic situation I was wrestling with - and it did something it didn’t do the day before.
Without me asking, it reached for a skill I'd built for Wavetable - a kind of Chief of Staff prompt. And then, mid-conversation, it pulled in another one. A personal skill, trained on my quirks and weird decision-making patterns.
It didn't do this 24 hours previously.
The AI anticipated what I needed before I knew to ask for it. It read the situation, figured out which tools would help, and just... used them.
The Good? I got better thinking, faster.
The Bad? Something about being known by a tool - really known, not just queried - sits slightly sideways.
So, yes, like with a lot of this stuff - it’s both.
Btw, the Skills stuff in general is fascinating - below are a few of the ones I’m using.
